We Love SJB!

Just wanted to throw a FINAL thank you out to all of our school families for your commitment to Catholic Schools!  It's been a great week celebrating, and we are so appreciative of our growing school community.   The countdown is now on to enroll your Eagles for the 2026-2027 school year.  T-minus 6 days and counting!  Instructions included below!   Peggy Roketenetz, Principal Judy Ciukowski, School Administrative Assistant Louis Russo, Director of Operations Julie Castelli, Director of Admissions & Enrichment Claire Kenny, Director of Events Monica Parker, Director of Student Life Fr. Ed Howe, Pastor of Blessed Carlo Acutis Parish   IMPORTANT DATES   Wednesday, February 4 - 100th Day of School! Friday, February 6 - NO SCHOOL! Professional Development Day   SJB School Calendar Public URL SJB School Calendar Public Address in iCal Format  Re-enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is OPEN!  Thanks to those of you who have re-enrolled your Eagles.  Remember that your spot for next year is only guaranteed through Friday, February 6th.  After that, all open spots are opened to the public!  Don't sleep on this one, Eagles!  We want to see you next year!   You can re-enroll your current student(s) by logging into your FACTS Family Account: FACTS Family Portal (district code SJB-IL) Apply / Enroll Enrollment / Re-Enrollment "Click here to open Enrollment" You will see enrollment packet links for each of your students who are eligible to re-enroll for the 2026-2027 school year. There is a $150 enrollment fee per family. Any current school families who do not re-enroll by Friday, February 6th will forfeit their spot to the general public. A $500 tuition deposit per child for the 2026-2027 school year will be due on March 15, 2026. This charge will automatically be added to your FACTS account. If you have an issues accessing re-enrollment on the app, try on a computer, there are still some bugs that RenWeb is working through.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the other staff members in the school office. We are so excited to welcome you back for another exciting year at St. John Berchmans School! We Love SJB Button Challenge Edition! A very exciting opportunity has come along that requires our immediate collective attention. Drum roll please!  An anonymous Angel Donor has approached us with a schoolwide challenge: for EVERY FAMILY at SJB to purchase ten 2 inch round metal buttons that say  "I  SJB", for a total of $100/ten buttons per family. What's in it for our school? Well, IF, and I do mean IF we can achieve full participation (that is, every family purchases at least 10 buttons), our Angel Donor will MATCH the amount of money we raise, up to $30K (!!!).  A novel challenge like this hasn't come our way before and we couldn't pass it up, so CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!  Visit this WE LOVE SJB FACTS page to purchase your buttons. What are you going to do with all these buttons, you ask? That's up to you! Your Eagle(s) can wear them on clothes and backpacks (highly encouraged), you can give them away, or you can sell them to friends and family in order to offset your costs. Remember the value is $10 each, so if grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, neighbor or friend wants to buy any from you, that's the going rate.  Buy Tickets Volunteer to Help Snack shack accounts can be loaded through the SJB App or by logging into the parent portal in your FACTS / RenWeb account.  Simply choose Snack Shack from the prepay account options and load money int your Eagle's account. Individual snack items cost between $1-2.  Logan students are capped at spending $5. Altgeld students are required to manage their own spending. ALL PROCEEDS FROM SNACK SHACK GO TO OUR 8TH GRADE TRIP TO DC** **Once the DC trip fundraising goal of $2000 is reached, the remaining proceeds goes to the general school operations fund.
