Admission Requirements
Admission of any child is dependent on the agreement that parents or legal
guardians and the child agree to abide by the policies, rules, and regulations
of the Archdiocese of Chicago and St. John Berchmans School.
The school is operated under the guidelines of the Catholic Bishop of
Chicago, a Corporation Sole, in the Archdiocese of Chicago, and admits
students of any race, color, sex, religion, nationality and ethnic origin
to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available
to students at the school. It does no discriminate on basis of race, color,
sex, nationality or ancestry in administrating educational policies and
other school administrative programs.
St. John Berchmans School does not have the available resources to provide
programs for the disabled. Parents are encouraged to find an appropriate
school to meet these special needs.
Pre-Kindergarten admission: We offer rolling admissions through
out the year based on availability. A child may be enrolled once they
are three years old. Children entering either program must be fully toilet
trained.
Kindergarten admission: Children must be five years old on or before
September 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling. New first
grade students must be six years old on or before September 1.
A physical examination is required when a student enters school for the
first time or transfers to St. John Berchmans School. Ages must be verified
by a birth certificate and immunization records must be complete.
